What's stopping big brother from tapping our internet connection?
You know, that is exactly the kind of mindset that is going to get everyone in a lot of trouble. "Oh, I don't care, I don't commit crimes. Except I do smoke weed..."

Only until they cross your line. some people are just very private and don't want the government knowing anything about them. You're ok with that. But what's your line? Phone calls from big brother every year to check up on you? Visits from big brother every month to make sure you're not lying about you wealth? Cavity searches every day to make sure you're not hiding anything?

Big Brother already exists, in the UK we have GCHQ which monitors all communications of those who are "suspect".

I see where you're coming from now, and I agree that they (probably) aren't keeping logs of every single internet connection. But I still don't believe it's impossible, all it would take is a law to be passed (illegal one at that) that requires ISP's filter all the information first or something, even if it's a hex dump or wtf ever it is, I don't doubt for a split second that we can have that kind of technology in 2007. BTW, doesn't AT&T send every iPhone owner a stack of papers with all of their text messages listed on them every month? Sounds pretty identical to me.

We should all come together and make an island out of pop bottles and fish-net, like that one guy did on 'Ripley's Believe it or not...'. 'Course, not sure how that island would hold up to tropical weather and such without being attached to some weed-hating mainland.
Kinda sucks that governments and parliaments exists, neo-lithic men and women didn't have to worry about this kind of crap, just about other people and such stealing their goods... this is one white guy starting to see what those rastafarians are calling 'babylon'.\"A key character in a group of misfits, keeping hearts strong and spirits high, the one who is both a beast and a man, carrying no pity or shame for himself.\"
