Need help with beginning grow.
My advice to you Iforgot is to work with the space you have as long as it is safe. Don't move it your friends place where the landlord may discover what you're doing. You need to have your grow room COMPLETELY isolated and secret for it to be worth doing and safe to continue doing for any reasonable amount of time. Your lighting sounds alright for vegging. You really are supposed to flower with a HPS light due to the emphasis on red/orange spectrum. You could try it with the flurescents but you might not get the results in quality or in yield that you desire.
Also, as far as nutrients, I cannot express how much better organic bud is than nonorganic. I tried to do chemmy bud and it burns and tastes like crap. Furthermore, as I think someone else said, Foxfarm makes a great organic soil. I use Happy Frog organic soil. Its also important to add more good stuff to the organic soil like earthworm castings(provides nitrogen), perlite, Peace of Mind's "Fruit & Flower" (great additive), Peace of Mind's Bat Guano (provides phosphorus to be used during budding), and mushroom compost.
I use all of the above added in the soil and then supplement that with Nature's Nectar organic fertilizer and an occasional boost of Nitrozime marine algae extract which is a hormone that helps promote vigorous growth.
Hopefully this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
