    watering question

i was wondering if it matters when you water as far as lighting goes. would it be more beneficial to water during the plant's daytime or nightime?

    watering question

I water during the day, this is so that the water doesn't linger on the plants overnight and cause mould.

If your light is very close to the plants and heat is a issue, I would water very carefully at night.

    watering question

watering and feeding should be done in the 'mornings' when the plants cells are 'open' to receive ... conversely, if I were to spray for bugs, or something, I would do it in the 'evening' when the plants cells are more closed ... at least, that's what the books told me, so that's how I've always done it ...

Yeah this has to do with how foliar respiration works and the opening and closing of the foliar stomata. At night they close up to preserve water and other elements since they are not in active photosynthesis, while during the day they open to allow gas and fluid exchange which is much heavier in lighted conditions during photosynthesis. This is especially important when in a hot environment due to the fact that if not supplied with adequate water during the day (mainly if grown outdoors) in high heat conditions, the water can evaporate so quickly that plants will lose turgidity extremely fast.
