My parents are evil :(

Basically now that my parents know i smoke, they've ruined my life... even more then they already had. Ok, i tried to talk to them about herb after they caught me ... but my parents are ignorant. They said that if i ever smoked weed again, they'd send me to this "teen boot camp" which is for "troubled teens". They think that weed can give you Brain damage, when that test was conducted on Apes with shots through syringe of pure THC. They still were ignorant and said "No robert, it gives you brain damage". So finally them being the good parents they are ( not really, i hate them ) They belive that it would be a great idea to drug test me, monitor both my IM's with some program, my internet history etc. Almost any freedom i had. I mean, i only smoke weed like 2 times a week... and it's great. Ever since i've started smoking weed, i've been nicer to people and much more happy. But on the debate of health issues concerning " brain damage" , Weed can't give you brain damage. And once i prove them wrong at that, there going to say " well it ruins your lungs" . Well it's definately not healthy for your lungs, but i'd smoke a vaporizer if i really had too... because they do not damage your lungs, at all. ANyhow, basically my parents are invading my privacy. They won't let me hangout with friends because they suspect they "smoke pot". Well everyone they thinks smokes pot doesn't... i actually don't hangout with too many people who smoke pot, like a couple. But i've never had a friend over who smokes pot at my house... which is why i normally don't smoke pot at my house obviously.

But i hope your life is alot better than mine, and i hope you have better parents than me... mine are the worst, and i hate them to the fullest extent

As much as I'd hate to say, don't hate your parents man. They're just not educated about cannabis. They just don't understand the cannabis culture.

Sorry your feeling down! I'm a parent and I have parents, ~lol~ so I have been on both ends of this, I'm sure you don't want to hear this but, Your parents just love you and want you to make what theyfeel is the best choices for your life.

Now I was a teen mom (back in the day) I am a HUGE pot smoker have been since I was 13, I always said if my kids wanted to toke I would support them, now my son is 13 and I want more for him! Smoking dope has changed my life, I have passed up many, many wonderfull chances because I am a addict!

So know that they seem like they are being assholes they only worry about you. If you had a friend who was really doing alot of shit, drinking all the time and putting themselves at risk, I ask you would you ignore it or would you be a true friend and say something?

If you answer yes I would say something, I think you now have a better understand of the fear your parents have!

well the thing is i only do it once a week, kinda to relieve stress and have a good time. what oppurunitys do you have a 3:00 at your friends house etc. It's not like i'm passing up a job interview to smoke lol


and yeah i understand, but i'm more mad at the whole "drug test" thing and invasion of privacy thing.

How old are you?? Geez I wish oh wish that the world could see how much good pot can do! If it was not for pot I could be D E A D now, I had a very bad crack problem and if it was not for my hoolies I would either be dead or a MAJOR crack head today.

OzzyOz, my parents were the same way...they would never listen to anything I said, but everyone goes through this period of life. It's just a part of your teen years. My mom lived (and lives) in this odd religious/Dr. Phill- rules- the- world universe and still has no idea what's going on in real life. I'm 30, she has no idea that I do, or have ever smoked pot and thinks I have only been drunk once. I know, see I told you, she's in an alternate universe.

All I can say is one day you'll be able to do what you please, and until then you have to follow their rules until you move out. Sorry but that's basically all there is to it when you're dealing with ppl who won't listen to facts.

Ozzy, you're parents aren't evil, dude - they are just misinformed and closed-minded.
But guess what? It aint their fault.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds like one or other of your parents is from a deeply religious background (or indeed, a military one). If that is true, then I'm afraid that you're gonna have a very difficult job to change their opinions - but still doesn't hurt to try

I'm sorry to tell you this, but until you're 18 and living under your own roof, you gotta respect their rules. It's a tough break, man, I know all too well, but it's the way it is.

But here's where you gotta be clever.
Don't be flaring up in their faces and giving them a whole load of shit, because you will be the only one to suffer - think about how you'd look to them - "obviously the drugs have turned him into a raving psycho!" - get it?
Instead, stay calm and reasonable.

They only want to protect you, like others have said, and maybe their opinions about providing that protection (ie, against cannabis) are a little misguided, then maybe you should do some research yourself.
Every now and then, you could tell them some of your findings to help them understand better - but not in a "see, it is safe, so I should be allowed to smoke it" kinda way, but rather a "I have been thinking about what you said, and decided to research it further, and this is some of my findings" kinda way...
