    First time SOG style grow.

    Hey there everyone,

I am going to give it a shot at a SOG style grow. This won't be as accurate as most SOGs but I will try and have a harvest every 3 weeks.

So I have 1 clone already transplanted to it's 1 gallon container. I decided to use a cut bottle that I sprayed to keep light out, this is because the bottle takes up much less space than the pots I currently have.

I also have another clone that is currently starting to show roots (water cloning method).

I am going to veg the clone for a week and then put it into my flower section.

There are currently two plants already flowering in the box, but one will be finished next week and the other 2 weeks after so i will have plent of space.

I have only a 250w hps so am keeping this low scale. I will update atleast once every week if not sooner and would MUCH appreciate your help.

I don't know what strain the plant is although it is about 60-70% sativa dominant and so far has produced small yields and is very leafy.

Ok to get the stone rolling I have some pics for you.

I have one image showing you the clone box/ veg box. Another is of the gallon bottle with the clone vegging for SOG.

I have also added 2 images for eye candy. One is of the flowering section with the flowering plants, there is also an afghan I am flowering to compare yield. The other is of a close up of one of the buds being harvesting next week.

Feel free to ask any questions.

What kind of soil and fertilizers are you using?

For this plant I am using multi purpose compost as it has worked in the past, I have put some gravel in for drainage because it's difficult to get perlite here.

I have Neptunes harvest fish fertilizer, superthrive, miracle grow (if i need it, don't use though) and epsom salts.

I need more fertilizers to be honest, but don't know what is available in the UK.

    Update:

I watered today with plain tap water. The plant is 5" high and I will be putting it into flower at about 7"-8" (advice from stinkyattic).

I will then cut clones and use Fish fertilizer, superthrive and a little epsom in the next watering.

I'll keep an eye on this dude as i wanna give sog a go too.
Dunno about tap water though, especially this time of year when the mains go very cold! I boil the kettle for a cuppa and when the extra water is cooled i then pour it into a container with a screw lid.
I've always got clean water at room temperature this way.Works for me.

Ok cool thanks for the advice .

Hopefully my afghan will be female because the mystery strain I am currently using has quite a low yield, even with one plant getting all the 250w hps.

The plant is now 7" and a bit tall so I've dumped it into 12/12 and will show you pics on Monday.

As far as the afghan, I've taken two clones hoping it will be female. We'll see if the rockwool cube method works for me this time as I have cut the end off a 2 litre bottle and domed it for humidity and I have also used Clonex with it. I also did a water method clone incase the other failed.

Its been a few days since the plant was put into 12/12 and its doing great. It is about 10/11 inches tall now and starting to develop some tard leaves. I will water with neptunes harvest and superthrive this week. The pot looks tiny in the pic, but it is bigger than the plant.

The thing with the water cloning method is you get some very unusual shaped plants that don't grow the conventional MJ leaves till about 1 week into flower.

I've included a pic of the clone that I am about to transplant into a smaller pot for vegging and I will replace this with another too.

Also there is a pic of the plant I will be harvesting this week.

    Thats all for now!
