I checked on the plant this morning and it's poking out of the fresh layer of potting soil I'd used to cover it up the day before (to protect the exposed root). Kind of looked like a tiny white mushroom...if memory serves me well, the white will progressively turn to green as the first set of leaves develops.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it turns out to be female...and that the enhanced lighting in the new cabinet provides nicer bigger buds, I've read a lot of good things about "Natural white" CFL's.

Test grow update No pics yet doodz & doodettes, in fact I'm a bit worried - I may have planted the seed a tad too shallow; the root became exposed and looked like it was beginning to shrivel, argh! I covered the seedling with fresh potting soil and watered it gently to keep it moist...the seed pod looked awfully pale, I hope I wasn't too late. In general, how long would it take for me to know if the seed is dead? I planted it last Friday after soaking it overnight in sterile water.... My first mistake Rating: 5
