Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres

Haha, Maryland is the richest state per capita in the US, according to Time magazine...

No wonder it's $800/month for a STUDIO apartment... And that's cheap.

JaggedEdge - First off, I wanna say I agree with your views on this state and people's attitude toward Katrina 100%.

I live in Baton Rouge currently and I have to say: If you dont live here, you really dont know how shitty it is! Did you know Louisiana has the lowest test scores regarding education? Thats right our state has THE worst school systems, we are dead last. IMO that reflects that the parents dont care so they dont push their children to succeed which makes me think they themselves dont care about much.

Our murder rate in baton rouge is that of a big city (Atlanta, New York, Chicago, etc...) yet we are half the size! Imagine That! The streets are running down, there is less and less construction being seen and more and more DEstruction everyday! I have a good reason to leave this state, or at least this city, put in front of me everyday. I can't wait to leave.

$125,000 for an entry level job? yea right pal... the national average for entry levels positions for new graduates with a BA or BS is 32-34k/year...

Why you might ask? Let me put it this way:

We were looking for an apartment on the south shore (New Orleans area) and the best deal we were able to find was a 360 sq ft. studio for $550 a month. On the Northshore, the average 1 bedroom apartment will cost around $700 a month.

On top of the extreme cost of living, there are NO jobs. While looking at jobs for when I get out of school, I can make $8 an hour with a college degree... Granted there are better, but those jobs are much harder to find. An equivalent job in TX pays $125,000 for an entry level position. And housing is much cheaper, at least from the reality sites are showing me.

The bottom line is this. Under no circumstance should you ever move to this shit-tastic state. The economy seems to be bottoming out, which I suspect, is due to the states long history of political corruption.

Never move here, once I get my degree, I'm moving to Dallas. And this state wonders why so many graduates relocate.
lol I think you can get a closet for 700 a month in Jersey
