Stop ridiculing people that don't "support our troops"
tallcoolone~im not exactly sure how to respond to that.
that might be the most peculiar response i have ever seen on these boards.higher4hockey Reviewed by higher4hockey on . Stop ridiculing people that don't "support our troops" So many people get pissed because they think certain anti-Iraq people don't support our troops. Let me say for myself that I have extreme respect for American troops, mostly the ones that fought for our freedom in 1776(?), not the ones fighting for another countries freedom. I guess my point could be summed up in this guys post: Rating: 5

i'll make it plain in simple, lol. life is a ride. rides have 'thrills and chills' which are apart of their fun, correct? well some people pretend are apart of these 'thrills and chills'. They life to scare straight thinking people with their twisted views, such as Stephen Colbert. Mr. Colbert pretends to be republican while at the same time skewers his views with their obsurdity, such is the humor of Huru Shott.

What would happen if all US soldiers just layed down there weapons and said I'm not killing any innocent civilians anymore?

Sure, I support the troops. Do I support the war? Absolutely not. This war is ridiculous, and has nothing to do with the freedom of the Iraqi people, and nor does it have anything to do with terrorism or our freedom. Some people seem to think that it does have to do with fighting for our freedom, however, when did Saddam ever try to oppress us?
If ever soldier laid their weapons down and said they weren't going to do any more fighting, they could not court marshal every single soldier. Whoever started it would be, though, I'm sure.

I have two good friends who went to fight in Iraq because A) they had enlisted and believed they were doing their duty and B) felt there was still some shred of possibility that S.Hussein had posed threat to the world.
Both have come back, with at least a dozen of their friends returning feeling the same way, realizing they/we have been CONNED. The war is a scam to protect the money of very few by those very few. And using OUR money and the lives of our soldiers to do it. They are now completely against the war, and the Bush administration. And they fought, killed, saw many friends and civilians die, and a few have been injured - some with no hope of physical rehabilitation. Most have been psychologically damaged beyond immediate repair and now the VA hospitals can't even afford the proper meds to keep them emotionally safe (guess what they recommend on the sly for the depression...)
When even one of the armchair patriots here goes and enlists and risks something besides their rep on these or any other boards - I'll take them seriously.
If you've been over there and FOUGHT, I respect your opinions and views. But I still won't support this military action, and I won't be cowed with the 'support our troops' guilt bullshit. The only way to really support them is to advocate they come home immediately and stop dying for rich men's stock investments.
