over-fertilizing
I have two outdoor plants that i over-fertilized, one is much worse than the other. I am using organic Botanicare pure blend (1.5-4-5.) The guy at the grow shop told me not to worry about over fertilizing and to put 45 ml per gallon of water. Well anyway, this didn't seem to work in my favor. One of my plants has slightly burned tips, and some of the leaves were left unharmed. My other plants has burning on all of the leaves. It has progressed up the sides of the leaves and many of them have died. I have been using regular water for about a week.
How much will this effect my yield? Also, is there a sign to look for when i should start using fertilizer agian. I know its late in the season and i am going to have to start flushing them anyways. One more thing, i am using well water that is high in sulphur (stinks like rotten eggs.) Could this be a factor in the over-fertilizing?
Thanks for any help, it is greatly apreciated.PrideOfCucamonga Reviewed by PrideOfCucamonga on . over-fertilizing I have two outdoor plants that i over-fertilized, one is much worse than the other. What does the back of the bottle say? I know it isn't 45ml/gallon. I'd flush the living shit out of them and pray. You sure he didn't say 4 OR 5 mls per gallon? Either way.....the directions on the back should be what you go by.
Good luck....that sounds pretty bad.

If it's Pure Blend, not PBP, it's 30ml/g every two weeks, I think.
I'd check the pH on that well- that's gonna be hydrogen sulfide, which as I remember is a little acidic.I assume you understand that we have options on your time,

One the back it says 30 ml per gallon, and to use every watering. It does say to use 45 ml if you are using a hydro or aeroponic set up and you want agressive flowering (whatever that means.)
Does anyone kno if this is going to reduce my yield by a lot?

Well, if your plants aren't healthy at this point in the season- yes, it's going to affect yeild.
Why are you using the hydro formulation in soil?
What's yer source pH? Mixed pH? Soil pH?I assume you understand that we have options on your time,

I think that's a big part of the problem- whoever sold you the Pure Blend has cheap pH test kits- ( $7-10 US). Check your pH's- search function will get you to protocol.

I think the well water may be part of the problem. If your ph is high (alkaline) it tends to lock out nutrients and looks like over fert or water because you think you need to flush because you thought you over fertalized. try feeding with some distilled water from the water machines in town for a week and see what happens. but don't go tinkering around with more or less nutes in an attempt to solve something. give the plant a blank canvas and go from there...good luck
