How often do you tell your kids . . . ?

    HI ALL..

I,m a dad of 3boys,and i make it my business to tell my boys i love them every day,,just grab a few moments and stop the clock, and sit with them, each, mostly at bed time, but it means a lot to me to do this..
AS a child born in the 60s,and from ireland, our parents never told us,Now i dont think that had a bad effect on me,but i think its just a positive thing to be open and honnest with your kids..
Sometimes you may not feel like you love them,or even like them, but i just think its important..what do you think??????

i tell my girl every time i communicate with her i love her and how proud i am of her. my mother died unexpectedly and because of that i try to let my daughter know how much i love her every minute of the day. She has grown into a loving responsible adult and i am so very proud of her. treat your kids with kindness and support them in what they do and you will always have thier love in return.
okay i was high, so, please find below, current update in first thread and second thread is the beginning. first thread will be the one i add to as the grow continues, yes...i was high.

It is highly important to tell your children you love them. Its all about making them feel confident and gives them a positive outlook about themselves. Praising them as often as possible is also a good booster for them. Whenever they do something cool, give it credence so they want to do more coolness.

Even when they do something not so cool, rather than call them a bad person, just point out that you didn't like that particular action, so they continue to know you love them, but not necessarily that behaviour they may have displayed.

I too have three boys...I love them and do they know it!

I have told my daughters I love them almost every single day of their lives..also tell them how pretty they are and how proud I am of them for the accomplishments that they achieve.

I think it's very important, too. I told our son nearly every day of his life, too, and I still do every time I talk to him, which is a couple of times a week. We showed him we loved him, too, in every way possible. Some of those he didnt like, like being told no or having limits set for him. But I think in time he'll understand that those actions were about love, too.

I'm lucky. I grew up with demonstrative, verbally and physicaly affectionate parents. So I'd had that modeled for me. When his time comes, I think our son will be a loving parent, too. I already intend on being an absolutely sickeningly loving, over-indulgent grandparent.

Absolutely!! When my daughter was in the house I told her every single day, multiple times a day. She was an only child. I adored her! I also hugged her every day. Now that she has moved out I still tell her every time I see her. And we also still hug every time.
There is something I have said to my daughter for many, many years every time she leaves. I'll say " I love you. Be careful." And she will always say " I will, I promise. I love you too, mom!"
I love hearing it. Its kind of our "ritual"

when i let my son out of the dog cage for his daily ten minutes
i slap him around and then before i put him back i tell him i love him
i dont think he believes me
Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
