As promised, here is a pic of a male developing some flowers at the apical meristem (top node). This was a sativa dominant male grown outside and then chopped shortly after this image was captured. Before it met its untimely demise, however, I thought images might come in handy one day (and sure enough!).

The little balls around the last node of growth are the male flowers beginning to grow. Notice there are no white hairs, and (this is about 1 week into flowering) the balls swell up and become fairly large in numbers, especially around the top at first. This male started flowering about 8 days before any females did, and the fact that it began to flower while other plants did not was one of the tip-offs to thinking there were both males and females present (females usually flower a little later than males, but not always).

Good luck, and I hope you have a lady in there somewhere. It would be a shame to come up with only guys after putting the effort in.

P.S. - sorry about the lower quality - back when this was taken the camera was not set up for macro mode and a loupe wasn't used to show detail (didn't have one yet).
