Well not everyone defines success by how much money they make. Personally, that's a rather sad way to live life.

I'm on my way to a career in graphic design, just not sure where yet....I've got a year of school left to figure that out though. Most likely I'll have to move to a bigger city, but it would be worth it because there is more work there. The pay isn't that bad from what I hear either.

If I'm happy in 20 years, then I'd say I'm a success. As long as I can afford to pay my bills and get by, that's fine by me. Life wasn't meant to be spent grubbing for money doing some job you in which you despise everything about it besides for the paycheck.

It was never said that success was defined by how much money you make. I know it's nice and pretty to think that money doesn't matter and happiness is all that's needed. Well I hate that rationale. It's simply cannot exist that way and making other people feel bad about trying to make as much money as possible is foolish. Money is all that matters. Those who do not realize this simply have not made it then. Or are just straight up bull shitting to prove some kinda moral point..

    Haha....

My point is that money is not needed for one to be happy. If it is a necessity, then I'll say it again: it's a sad way to live life. Hey, we all have our priorities...

Money is ALL that matters eh? Wow...you sound like you'd fit right in down on Wall Street. Realistically, you need money to survive, but to the excessive heights that you seem to crave seem a bit pointless. Well, I hate that rationale. The green monster may just be the death of you, no?

Just how do you know you're really alive? ~

Out of curiosity, what did you have your degree in before going to medical school?

well sadly for people who dont have alot of money it does matter a hell of alot. Not having enough money can mean that you can't truely do the things you want to do with your life.

Money isn't that important to me. I'm still debating between teaching and getting the summer off and tech writing making $60,000 or so starting out. Realistically, if I moved to Dallas I could prob make over 100,000 a year... I like the idea of working as little as possible though.

calm down, your right, money is necessary and sure, it does matter, but to say it is all that matters is stupid

im most likely gonna graduate with a masters in applied economics with the ability to start off making 50k a year right out of school

but yet, if you asked me right now what i want to do id answer that i wanna be a full time groundskeeper for the town i used to live in....id probbaly start off at 11bucks an hour

hell, id be doing it now, if my parents didnt demand i have a college degree even if i dont end up using it right away

i guess my point is, 11 bucks an hour sure is no 50k a year starting off but i would be way happier working outdoors, doing stuff i love, with people i enjoy

sure, some money is needed to survive and all of that, but after that, it doesnt matter at all

I'm just in college right now but I intend to be a math teacher. Teachers make good money especially considering they only work about 9 months out of the year. I expect to make at least 40k when I start. Not much compared to some of the posts but it sounds like more than enough to retire with and smoke everyday!
