Christian Fundamentalists, (although they will deny and dance around the issue) teach that a woman is to be submissive to a man (The man is the head of the household). A woman must not wear trousers, (this is considered a mans clothing). Teachings also include that a woman must never cut her hair, wear jewelry, or makeup. Women are discouraged from working outside the home. A woman is not allowed to be in a car or alone with any male that is not a direct relative. Dancing, playing cards and television are all no-nos. A womans skirt must fall at least 2" below the knee. It can be a terribly isolating way to live. You are taught that you are in this world but not of this world, which is used by many to to discourage interaction with anyone that is not a member of their denomination.
