im not a musslim but it pisses me off to hear a bunch of predjudice stuff about how islam and all musslims are violent, most of these people never met a musslim and certainly never read the entire koran, they base their conclusions about islam from either laziness or propaganda from the kind of people like jerry farwell. but again predjudice people will either buy anything their told and refuse to do any independant research.

Jihad means "Holy War"???
Jihad is almost always wrongly translated as "Holy War." The Arabic word Jihad actually means "to struggle" or "to exert one's utmost."
In the context of the Koran, Jihad means the struggle for good against all evil. This struggle also includes the suppression of the lower self in order to reach a state of higher God-consciousness that leads to a pure soul.
Jihad can take place in many forms, including speaking out against injustice or spending your wealth in the cause of public good, such as alleviating poverty. Jihad does also include armed struggle, which at times becomes necessary in order to protect the weak and to establish freedom of religion. (Jihad in the context of armed struggle is known as Qital.)
Critics of the Koran love to quote passages such as 9:5 of the Koran, which calls for taking up arms against those who ascribe partners with God. Most often, these critics fail to recognize the context of such passages. Cutting and pasting verses out of their context to lend credence to an argument clouds the more important overall picture.
All verses in the Koran that deal with armed struggle advocate the use of force only for self-defense in the widest sense possible, such as freeing the oppressed and establishing the freedom of worship.
The Scripture clearly says that fighting in the path of God does not include converting people by the sword. The Koran emphatically declares, "Let there be no compulsion in religion" (2:256).
All legitimate scholars recognize this essential ethic as one that Muslims must abide by, even during times of war.

but its alot easier for simple minded people to choose not to read the koran out of fear they may be proven wrong about there ideas about islam. also there to fucking lazy to read it, its about the same lenght as the bible, theyd rather take a few qoutes out of context.

I've experienced shari'a law firsthand,in Saudi,when I worked there-what the koran says and how the current muslims interpret it-are two different things..there are few-if any-muslims living by the simple call of fighting Evil and for freedom of religion..instead-they've interpreted the koran to mean that all non-believers are the enemy and the only religion to be fought for-is Islam.

Many Christians have been murdered recently-just for being suspected of trying to evangilize to the local muslims-where's the freedom of religion ?

Is it not evil-for any school of thought-to make women second-class citizens,who must fear the wrath of all men around them-even their own fathers-who will murder their own daughters-if they percieve that their honor has been affronted ?

I find--that it is you-that has no experience with muslims-whereas,I lived with the barbaric muslims..and was shunned and isolated-by the educated muslims.

The muslim men-who desire to turn the world into a 7th century,fundementalist,Islam world-need to be crushed..there's no room in society-for that kind of tryanny..the same goes for the hard-line red chinese commies and the hard-line russian commies-as well as the hard-line commies in North Korea.

Christian Fundamentalists, (although they will deny and dance around the issue) teach that a woman is to be submissive to a man (The man is the head of the household). A woman must not wear trousers, (this is considered a mans clothing). Teachings also include that a woman must never cut her hair, wear jewelry, or makeup. Women are discouraged from working outside the home. A woman is not allowed to be in a car or alone with any male that is not a direct relative. Dancing, playing cards and television are all no-nos. A womans skirt must fall at least 2" below the knee. It can be a terribly isolating way to live. You are taught that you are in this world but not of this world, which is used by many to to discourage interaction with anyone that is not a member of their denomination. Therre are always the snake handlers to help creep ya out too!

Of course there are islamic terrorists, but for centuries christians were terrorists. I pray, Torog, that you've read up on some of Pope Innocent's doings? How about the crusades? I think people like you are more of a threat to our freedom then any muslim I've ever met.
