whats the average U.S pay check a month?

Between the man and myself, we bring home around $3200-$3500 a month. Thats with him working 60hrs+ and me at 40hrs+ a week.

I make anywhere from $1,200- $1,400 per month, not really working that much.

Depends on the job a lot too...when I was selling cars, I would make anywhere between $4000-6000 a month...most of the other jobs I have had are somewhere around the $3500 a month..I own my own business now and make around $3000 a month but with a lot more freedom.

to live fairly decent in america and on your own you need more than minimum wage, cant make minimum wage and get no other income and live in houston, need a car to get around, rent is 500-600month no bills ect ect ect cant be done

it depends on what you mean by fairly decent. i supported myself on minimum wage in san diego for years. i couldn't afford luxurious things, but i had my neccessities. i paid rent, ate, drove my car, hung out with friends.

there are some things that i think people feel like they are entitled to, but remember we are talking about MINIMUM wage here. The LEAST amount of money you can make. Yeah it's not a fabulous life but at least you can live! like i said before, if you don't want to be poor, you can get a better job or work towards getting one.

by the way i am not saying that it wouldn't be awesome if minimum wage were more, but people are saying "it can't be done" and people do it all the time, including myself. I make more now and I will never let myself settle for less again, but i feel like going through that period in my life has made me not take things for granted and be happy with less, and the extra stuff is a priveledge.

don't forget TAXES ... doesn't help to make $100,000 a year, if the Govt takes most of it ... like Canada has universal health coverage, but their taxed more than double what the USA is ,,, (so far, anyway, that will change) ...
