Maybe a dumb question, but.....
I have always grown indoors in a spare closet in the house or a grow closet in the garage. But in March I put an old sativa seed in a pot and now it's about a five foot-plus bush in a five gallon container. It's definitely a female - buds all over due to the fact I bent the top two stems (I topped it months ago) at 90 degree angles every day for a few weeks during veg. Here's my possibly dumb question: just when will the plant be ready to harvest? I live in SoCal, and the container is in my backyard, getting not much direct sunlight anymore due to the sun lower in the sky and trees & bushes giving shade. Again, I have never grown outside - I have always been able to control this indoors. Any ideas are much appreciated! (Sorry - no pics)

I am north of you on the central coast where I get less light than you. So far so good as far as light. If you have it in a pot I would move the girl around as much as possible to maximize the light. Keep her going as long as possible.
Get one of those $10 pocket microscopes from Radio Shack so you can keep an eye on the tric development.
If you are in the mountains where you may have a frost problem, not likely yet, through a sheet over her at night. She should be fine I would think. I have a sativia going in a greenhouse with limited light and she is fine.

Hey Dr - thanks. I try and move her when I can, but am limited in ability to put in different places due to visibility by neighbor's secnd story window - must be very discrete.
BTW - what is a tric?

tric = trichome. In short, theyre what get u high. You need a microscope to see them tho, hence the $10 radioshack investment suggestion.
