You are gonna need some big fans to cool them down. I'm not an expert on fans as I grow in an open room with a 250w.

You will want to make sure the room is very well ventilated. Maybe some extractor fans out the window too.

when you are looking for fans, on the label it will tell you how much air it will push/pull. You will need to figure out how much room you have and then get the fan(s) that will be able to exchange/remove that amount of air in an hour. Then once you have that figured out, you will want to place a couple of standing floor fans in your grow room to circulate that air before being removed. If your using 2 1000w HPS lights, im guessing that you have a fairly large grow area. You can get a rat cage fan (those fans that are in a circle and you can attach to the wall, get them at home depot, lowes, etc). Go to walmart and pick up a temp/humid battery thermometer and run your lights for 24 hours and look at what you have.
    Hope that helps

...getting back to reality for a moment or two, do you have cooled reflectors on the lights?

Do you know what cooled reflectors are?

What's your weather going to be like from now until it warms up again next year - temperature wise?

    What's your budget like?

    HELP WITH HEAT PLEASE!!!

My budget is close to 2,000 after I purchased the lights. My climate is cold as it gets from october to april. Last question how many plants can fit under 2x1000hps lights in my basement. Space is huge. How shoulD I brake it up?

If I can pull in a lot of cold air during the winter from outside I think I should be able to keep the temps down what do you guys think?

Read the thread linked below, get some ideas then come back and ask some questions. You really need to get a better idea of what's what and this would be a good place to start 'cuz it's about a guy in a basement with 1,000 watt light(s).

Air cooled hoods are the starting point to control temps, not only inthe room as a whole, but directly under the lights where the plants will be. They allow you to get the light closer to the canopy. IMHO a coolable reflector is the best $100 you will ever spend!!!

get dwc 8 plants in 5 gal buckets would be nice.

use cool tubes or something like them then get a 6" inline fan w/ at least 440 cfm then take that heat out of the room and be sure no to just dump it in an adjacent room since the heat can seep back in.

With 2 1000 watters you have plenty of light for many plants I think. But you might have been able to cultivated more plants if instead you had 4 500 watters. Less heat, and more surface area you can shine your artifical sun over.

    This is not accurate information.

Santa Clawz, This forum isn't really for speculation and guesses. You should try sticking to giving advice about things that you have actual experience with! Aside from the fact that a 500 watt hps is uncommon enough to say they probably aren't even made, lighting and how it affects plant growth is a bit more complicated than just a little simple arithmetic.
