Not that I am against alcohol - I love it, and feel that it (as well as pot) can and should be legally allowed to be used recreationally.

The idea that someone can go to jail and be permanently branded an outcast from "normal, productive" society is a ludicrous product of a narrow-minded, asinine, backwards, selfish and uneducated world/personal viewpoint.

What really compounds this whole situation is the fact that marijuana has been proven to have several valid medical uses, and is theorized to have many, many more. It helps prevent health problems that make vaporizing it somthing that I think should be part of everyone's lives.

I had a 3.6GPA in college. I scored in the top twenty percent on the LSAT with one lackadaisical month of preparatory studying. I work hard and believe in going to work to work. I'm really good at what I do. I have only ever been in one wreck in my entire life, I have no traffic violations on my record, I've served in the US Marine Corps, and I'm a diehard American patriot. Yet if I get caught trying to grow 3 or 4 plants so I don't have to go to the blackmarket for pot, I can be put in jail for 60 years. I love the US, but I really, really hate what the politicians are doing to it. This is MY country, and it is OUR country. It is NOT a fucking social club that politicians and ignorant policy-makers can use as their fucking fantasy kingdom. Who the fuck are they to tell my state, where the majority of people, after 11 years, still believe that marijuana is ok, that we cannot decide for ourselves what is good and bad for our society? Look at Amsterdam. Look at their crime. Look at their drug use, both "soft" and "hard".


Peaceful civil disobedience is the answer! Things are slowly changing. I'm 28 and I believe in my lifetime, at the very least, medical marijuana will be common and accepted. Let's hope for the broad legalization of marijuana, or at least, the federal decriminalization of it.
