Petraeus and Crocker's Honest Report
Two of America??s finest career public servants, General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker, appeared before House and Senate committees this week to deliver their much anticipated independent reports to Congress and the American public on the current situation in Iraq. They offered realistic and cautiously optimistic war assessments, and impressed everyone other than those heavily invested in its failure. Furthermore their presentations have changed overall Iraq war debate dynamics and now have left many Democrats and their left-wing supporters struggling to regain their anti-war footing.
Anticipating Gen. Petraeus would bring some good news to the American public, Congressional Democratic war critics and their supporters launched strikes to besmirch his reputation by suggesting he was a liar and a puppet of an unpopular president. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said, ??By carefully manipulating the statistics, the Bush-Petraeus report will try to persuade us that violence in Iraq is decreasing.? Presidential aspirant Sen. Hillary Clinton said the report, ??intentionally exaggerates the surge??s success.? Rep. Rahm Emanuel said, ??We don??t need a report that wins the Nobel Prize for creative statistics or the Pulitzer for fiction.? And MoveOn.org published a full page ad in the New York Times stating, ??General Petraeus is likely to become General Betray Us.? It??s notable not one congressional Democrat repudiated the ad.
However, the greatest fear of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others who are invested in America??s defeat was expressed several months ago by Democratic Rep. Jim Clyburn who sagely noted that ??there??s a problem for Democrats if the surge works.?
By attempting to demonize a man of Gen. Patraeus??s character and aggressively pursuing a policy of failure Democrats may be engaging in an act of political suicide. A September 8, 2007 CBS/NY Times reported that the American public, by a 68 percent to 21 percent margin, trusts military commanders more than it trusts Congress to successfully resolve the Iraq war.
Petraeus reports - HUMAN EVENTS
The man was confirmed by unanimous vote to take the lead in Iraq and now that HIS plan is working the dems call him a liar? LMAO!!! Seems that the American public has more confidence in Patraeus than the leading bitchers in congress and senate.........CLASSIC!
BANG, BANG....they shoot themselves in the foot again. Maybe they should concentrate on where they receive their campaign contributions instead.

Petraeus and Crocker's Honest Report
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it General Petraues that was part of the original bandwagon of croonies saying that WMD's and Biological weapons existed in Iraq and he is therefore at least partly responsible for our involvement in an unjust war that was started under false pretenses?
And lets not forget about the Generals before Petraues that talked against the claims of the White House and their Staff (Tony Snow saying the War was going well for example), and how those Generals were forced into early retirement. I think he is nothing more than the first puppet to "pop up" after eliminating the good people with the guts to speak the real truth.
I have a very difficult time believing much that comes out of anyone associated with our current executive branch, and it's a real shame.I didn\'t do it
Anything I say in this forum is strictly fictitious and shouldn\'t be taken any more seriously than statements made by the federal government.

Petraeus and Crocker's Honest Report
Until Petraeus becomes another retired general he will not disobey his discipline to Bush. Maybe he is being honest, but most just see him as nothing more than a narrator to this administration.
Here is a link to Gen. Petraeus's story in the Washington post a few weeks before the 2004 election. And in the words of Jon Stewart "You would have thought the insurgency was in its last throws"

Petraeus and Crocker's Honest Report
Oh stop it, petraeous is a dick, period. Him and his boss are both dicks, better known as the doubledick twins. "I said to say yes Dick" "Yes Boss, er I mean dick #1" "Now about this pesky Iraq thingy, Do you think we can keep it going untill I'm out of office so we can blame it on the Democrats"? "Well Boss, er dick#1, I think it is very possible, let me give this report you gave me, this wonderful description of success in Iraq, and the gutless Democrats will do nothing to stop us". "Then it's on to Iran" "Sure thing Boss, er Dick#1. And so the story goes, the life and times of General Petraeous and his boss, and the selling of American "Democracy" to ignorant Muslims in 3rd world countries, better known as the hunt for oil.

Petraeus and Crocker's Honest Report
Gotta love it though.........he was unanimously voted in by a Dem. filled Senate.....returned in the time frame with encouraging words.....and NOW watch the Dems squirm.
Openly attacking a ranking military man like Patraeus just could come back to bite a few of these people in the ass coming up election day..........after all, the polls state he's more popular than the Senate or Congress.
