Yeah... great.
Now take that 400 watts and instead of wasting all that electricity making infrared light which the plant can't use, redirect it with a metal halide or equivalent wattage of CFLs.

Growing with heat lamps is NOT efficient.
stinkyattic Reviewed by stinkyattic on . to all who doubted the heat lamp this post is to let all the ppl who said a heat lamp would wrk in my "400 watt heat lamp usable or not" thread i posted about a month ago....... well i took the time since then to use my 400 watt heat lamp in my room and not only die it not cook my plant when used from about 3 feet away from any foliage with a simple big square fan blowing on the plnt but i also got rather nice growth within that time. slightly less then normall but still it grew without hurting the plant and at a Rating: 5
