    early light cycles

hello all, i am on my first grow and was wondering about lighting cycles and harvest time cycles ( i know that this has alot to do with strains). my little guys is now just 3 weeks old and about nine inches high. i was wondering when i should switch over to 18/6, since i would likke to pop it out as early as i can. (I am a tenant in college in a rented house).

    Thanks

Flower to your heigh constraints. Most plants I've seen usually strech 2.5 times their height, at the point you give them 12/12. If you got 18" of heigth, flower at 6".

You can flip them to 12/12 (as plantboxer said) at just about any point. Most recommend waiting till the nodes are alternating, which they should be at nine inches. This will however cost you dearly in the yield department. Let it go as long as you can for the size of your grow area. It will likely double in height during flower.

Do yourself a big favor and click on this link and do some reading.
