Can I take clones during flowering?
This is the key to answering the question. You don't put the new cuttings in solution. To keep them moist they can be put in a propogation dome which is then misted, or you can have them suspended over a hydro setup without them being imersed in it. In the latter case, the air stones cause enough hydrodynamic turbulence to keep tiny droplets of moisture (mist) around the base of the cuttings without keeping them actually in the growing medium. This allows propper ventilation for root growth while preventing significant loss of turgidity (water pressure in the plants).
