Growth Stage Question
I got my clones from another source and i do not know how long they had them after the were clipped from the mother plant and they were really small when i received them on aug 22nd. The plants are now around 7-8 inches tall, have anywhere between 5-7 fan leafs and are sitting in #5 pots, i do plan on putting them in larger pots later.
My current thinking is that they are in either the first or second week of veg, but i'm not sure, i am not too concerned about how long they are in veg, i do know that the longer they are in veg the better. I'm just trying to get an idea of where they are in the growth stage, i am putting together a log/chart so i can keep a close eye on what to add and when.... any thoughts?whatsthatsmell Reviewed by whatsthatsmell on . Growth Stage Question
The clone starts its life the same age as the mother it was cut from. You are going to have to assume that the mother was at least a fairly mature plant, otherwise there would be nothing to cut for clones. I have mothers that are one year old. The clones from those mothers are then one year old (maturity wise) when they start life.
Typically, a clone can be switched to 12/12 as soon as it is rooted well enough. Some people go straight from clone to flower - no more veg whatsoever.
So, with clones, it is the size of the plant and the health of the plant that determine when you will switch to 12/12, not the age of the plant.
How you reconcile this with your OCD ...that's a whole other can of worms. I'll make up a birthdate for you if it'll make you feel any better.

Growth Stage Question
unfortunately i dont know the strain, i was told that its a "headie" plant, was part of SOG at one point (the mother anyways), and i think (best uneducated guess) is that it is an ind/sat but it might be too early to tell (i'm not that good at deciding which one it is) I have a 9 foot ceiling that has an adjustable height 1000w HPS lamp, so i'm thinking i could wait until they are about 2 foot tall before going into flower and still have room. The flower room is about 120 square foot total but only using enough for the plants to flower (if that makes sense).
