Germination Problem
Okay so I've decided it's time for my first grow so I went out and bought a 42w cfl w/ a lamp and plan to add another soon. I decided to use bagseed first just so I don't ruin any good seeds, so I went out and got a 20 sack of some mids and got 5 good seeds out of it, but I'm having problems w/ them.
I decided to try all the different methods so I have 3 on a plate between moist paper towels with a bowl over the paper towels, one in a shot glass, and one directly in the soil. It's been 3 days so far and nothing from any of them. Is it possible I just have bad seeds from that sack? That's the only thing I can think of, but maybe I should just be patient and wait...Black0ut120 Reviewed by Black0ut120 on . Germination Problem
You pretty much hit the nail on the head all by yourself.
It sounds like you researched germinating pretty well, so you are probably doing it right. If they don't pop pretty soon you might want to search "scruffing seeds".

Germination Problem
Sounds like dead seeds. Were they white or brown with maybe some tiger stripes on them?
Sometimes Mids are older than a year, believe it or not, and the seeds may just be dead. Go pick up some more and try again? Or ask a friend who grows to save you some.

Germination Problem
BlackOut120,
try this. It has worked on every type of seed I have ever tried to germinate and that includes 5 year old bag seed.
drop your seeds in a small cup of tapwater. They will float. Leave for 24 hours (this wakes the seeds up). after 24 hours, a few may sink or they may still be floating. It doesn't matter either way.
get 3 papertowels or napkins. lay on a plate. wet the papertowels thoroughly with the water the seeds were soaking in. You do not want the papertowels dripping wet. just moist.
drop the seeds on one side of the wet papertowel, now fold the other side over on top of the seed. cover with another plate and store in the kitchen cabinet (somewhere warm and dark). Check them in 24 hours. You should see a sprout or 2. If not, check them again the next day. Most will germinate in 1-3 days. If you have a few that haven't germinated within a week, they probably aren't going too.
Regards,
JT

Germination Problem
You want good weed , then get good genetics ( buy seeds from a good provider ).
This way you can have a 90 % germination rate and know you are growing prime bud.
It sucks to grow , put all the effort and money only to grow some colombian sativa strain that you would otherwise buy for 300 a pound for.
So BUY GOOD SEEDS !!!

Germination Problem
I got 2 new seeds from the same bag(all I have atm) and I put them in a cup with water, 1 is floating and the other sank immediately.. I'll let them soak for 18-24 hours and see how it turn out after I put them in the paper towels.. I know I need some good seeds but I want to make sure I can grow bagseed before I step up and buy some.. but thanks for all the input guys and I'll keep you posted

Germination Problem
Here's what you do , in 1 gallon of water add 35 ml of hydrogen peroxide ( kills algae and fungus ) , 35 ml of wetting agent (helps water to be available to seeds ) and a few drops of superthrive ( helps promoting growth ) . Ph it to 6.4 .
Then put some water in a glass , cover it with plastic wrap , and then put the glass on top of your tv or refrigerator ( needs to be warm ).
Leave them untouched for 3 to 4 days , you will see that the seeds have come out of the huscs and the plant ( small at the moment ) is in the bottom of the glass.
Then remove water and put the seeds ( white tip down ) on your medium .
Carefull not to break or touch with hands use tweesers.
Peace.
