This happend to me with my old XBOX. It's called the Christmas bug or some shit, hence the red and green flashing lights. It's pretty hard to fix the problem yourself and Microsoft told me that they would fix it for $70, so I just said FUCK IT.

Microsoft will fix it for free and you will recieve another xbox in 2 weeks!
Go to the xbox.com page and go to warranties and if your xbox problems meet the requirements of a free repair ( which yours does) you'll get a box in the mail in 3 days then you put your xbox in it and mail it off and you'll get another xbox in 2 weeks. My cousin whom is my roommate did this and this is exactly what happened so dont listen the shit about it takes a month and all that bs.

you do of course realize the time it'd take would depend on how many they have to deal with at the momment of recieving it, and where you live... (some states may take longer to recieve it back due to shipping....)

How many red lights do you see? If it is three, it's a Microsoft problem and you just goto their support site and request a ticket for repair. Even out of warranty repairs are free in this case. I just received the package to send mine in today. Gotta get on that...

Yeah they send you a white box to ship your console to them. Do us all a favor and mark the date you shipped it off and we'll see how long it takes you to get it back.
