bowl changing colors.

ok, so this weekend I finally got around to buying a bowl. now i love it, but i been noticing that the bowl seems to be changing colors and whatnot. is this normal or am i inhaling paint?

Many glass bowls have the inner layer of glass impregnated (don't remember if it is actually impregnated or vapored on) with either silver or gold. As you use the pipe, some of the smoke will adhere to the inside of the pipe and will begin to change color.

Silver = blue
Gold = yellow / gold

When you clean the bowl with something that removes the buildup, the color will disappear and will start building up again as you use the pipe.

my pipe was see-through when i got it with blue stripes, and after some use, it starts turning like red green and yellow around the bowl, but im pretty sure its not color changing glass cause thats the only part that changed... what is that?

mine started out completely transparent and has permanent stripes on it. the guy at the counter said it would turn green. what i found is that when it gets resined up it turns blue/dark purple but every time i clean it the blue/dark purple comes off then i use the rubbing alcohol method of cleaning and i can gradually see the pipe itself going from transparent to green. had it for about 1.5 months, it's changing ever so slowly...

yea the transparent part of my bowl went from clear to light blue
