What the hell am I doing in the Politics forum?
I never post in here..politics pretty much play no part in my life..I dont watch the news, I only read certain parts of the newspaper.
But just this morning I comment on a thread in the lounge about the 9-11 attacks..I think I said something to the effect of "and just to think, America has only spent a gazillion dollars in retaliation" I should of added "and hasn't accomplished anything either" cause that is the truth..
This war that we are in today was based on these attacks..if you think anything else you are foolish..America doesn't play that way..the philosiphy is You fuck with us, we will fuck you up!.
and that is where we have been since, fighting a war on 2 fronts..possibly 3 fronts..costing us (american people) to much fucking money..we are going to lose both of these wars..you cannot beat an idea..we are breeding more terrorist than osama bin laden ever did by occupying these peoples lands..
This war has been fought stupidly, but there is no turning back now...there is only one way that we can at least pull out gracefully, that is 2 clear every fucking town in Iraq and then turn it over to the iraquis..after that we could pretty much wash our hands of it. It would cost a shit load of lives to..but we could be done in 6 months with the help of the u.n.
Wars are stupid! Mostly this one.geonagual Reviewed by geonagual on . What the hell am I doing in the Politics forum? I'm against the US' decision to start this war 100%. However, I think they're stuck now and cut and run is the worst thing they can do for the following reasons:
1. Approximately 600,000 Iraqi's and 3,700 US troops will all have died for nothing. I don't know how many other troops have been killed.
2. While Iraq was not a sponsor of AlQaeda, AlQaeda is using Iraq as a battleground now (along with many other terrorist groups, gangs, and those wanting to instal dictatorships). If the US leaves it will send a message through the whold world that terrorists can defeat the United States. This will help recruitment efforts, and hugely increase enemy moral.
3. Hundreds of billions of dollars will have been spent for nothing.
4. There are many religious sects in Iraq, and many whom think the other should be whiped from the face of the Earth. If the US leaves it will not stop attacks on civilians, it will leave every person with the "wrong" faith or culture open to genocide. As bad as the civilian casualties are now, just wait till the country is left to the mercy of fanatics who want to slaughter whole groups of human beings.
5. Iraq will undoubtedly be overtaken by one fanatical group or another. This means a nation and a people once again under a brutal dictatorship, or a theocratic brutal dictatorship like the Taliban. Then, Iraq will become a state sponsor of terrorism.
6. It's very possible that an undefended Iraq could be taken over by Iran. That's just what we need, an Iran double the size with double the resources.
