I watched his report. What did you really expect? did you expect him to tell us the truth? He is a puppet of the bush regime. Hand picked by Bush himself to project positive spin about the war. I guess you should tell all this good news to all the mothers that lost sons and daughters during the surge. Maybe they would believe it, but I highly doubt it. You've heard of putting lipstick on a pig, well amen to that.

Well, you're absolutely right about that. I've had 4+ years to asses the Iraq war, and it aint never been purty, death and destruction from the gates, and for what, some oil contracts for the elites and war contracts for the war profiteers, utter ignorance, just like all wars, only this is one that didn't have to be fought.

BTW, just in case no-one noticed, the troop pull out in July is only the amount of troops put in for the surge, so the overall troop level will remain the same as before the surge

Nothing we didn't know already. We can stay forever, win every battle of any consequence, and achieve absolutely nothing. Which would be fine, were it not costing a couple dozen american lives and a few billion dollars every week.

Iraq will be an issue in the 2012 elections too. I'm afraid we're not going anywhere, anytime soon. Get use to it.
