Nirvana Seeds vs. Originals?
Hi-
It took me a bit to figure out why Nirvana seeds are so cheap compared to everyone else, then I realized that it is "their version" and not the original seeds from the seedbank who developed it. White Widow from Nirvana vs. White Widow from Dutch Passion for instance.
Does this make a difference? Is there a reason I should choose one over another?

Nirvana Seeds vs. Originals?
Nirvana pros:
Cheap, lol.
Mostly pretty solid stuff.
You will probably be able to find a nice mother in your 10-pack.
Nirvana cons:
Not the originals
Often F2 or even F3 generation stuff- there's going to be variation
It's up to you. Personally, the stuff I've bought from Nirvana has been lines that are already relatively stable- classics like Skunk 1 and NL- so it doesn't bother me. IF I were going to get some newer fancy strain, I'd check elsewhere as well and then weigh costs. I've been satisfied with Nirvana with the sole exception of their white rhino, which hermed on me while everything else in the garden was fine.

Stinky-
Thanks, I was hoping you would chime in. Since I am so new to this I don't understand the F1 (F2/3, etc.) vs. hybrid(?) or whatever the non-F designator is. Can you clue me in?
Thanks.

Huh, the Nirvana Mango knockoff is Papaya and yes, it is one of their better strains.
F= filial generation of a hybrid.
F1 is the first hybrid generation
F2 and beyond are interbreedings of the previous filial generation.

From what I've read here and elsewhere, you get a nice little letter in the mail that states " a package containing contraband was confiscated...if you choose to pursue the issue...blah blah blah". Supposedly, thats all that happens over seeds here in the US.
But don't take MY word for it. Make up your own mind.

I'm not sure if WW is an F1 hybrid already, or a stabilized line, so I can't answer that question.

Also, my Nirvana strains are relatively very uniform 1-2 weeks into veg. I can clearly tell which are Northern Lights, which are White Rhino and which are Hindu Kush. NL and HK are IBLs(Inbred lines) so they are supposed to be very much uniform. White Rhino is a F1 (supposedly) and i believe it so far. The biggest is 2 days younger than my oldest NL and its blowing it away so far.
I have heard the Rhino grows slow, but in my case its got that vigor. F1's usually have this trait. The fresh genetic mix of an F1 makes the plant grow faster than Inbred lines like HK and NL.
Overall don't count Nirvana out just cause they're cheaper than other suppliers. My plants are doing really well and I'm more than happy with them, especially for the price.
