    A Close Call...

So today I did my semi anual check of all my equipment. Ya know, opening the ballast and cleaning out the dust, cleaing the fan blades and so on.

Well, I was there looking at everything and saw the following.

A burn MAIN timer. Yep, the timer that runs the whole operation was burnt to hell and it's AMAZING it didn't catch on fire.

"Luckly I have fire detectors in both the flower room and the overall grow room"

Now I have to set my alarm in the morning and shut the lights off then go get new equipment.

Pictures are of the Timer, inside and out, and of the timer FEMALE plug that was burnt. And one of the MALE plug from the power bar that was burnt.

Looks like way too much load on the shitty little timer. Spend an extra $25 and buy a suitable timer.

Are you using a Timer control box/contactor?
Also how much load have you on 1 socket?

    Safety first, always.

You might want to invest in a small electrical fire extinguisher as a future safety measure.

You really are very lucky your house still stands.

    Buy a better timer!!!

...or you can hope that the Chinese company that manufactured your timer really cared if your house burns down when they stamped that "20 amps" on there.
