How do buds grow exactly???

i have an indica strain growing, it started flowering august 20th.

Do the little fuzzy hairy popcorn buds actually get big and fat,

or is it an accumulation of a bunch of those thingys growing

together??

there is spaces on the branch, between those little popcorn buds

do those spaces get filled in eventually???? Just wondering if the

weed gods (or Goddesses) can help me out with this one?
