I would say go for it as long as the light spreads over your whole grow and everything gets something. Goodluck with and post us some pictures if possible.

The light is green? The reason plants look green is cuz they don't use the light that we see as green. Now, I'm no lighting expert, so I'm not sure if a green lens on a light would be the same as light in the green part of the light spectrum, or if it's just colored.
Anyway...go to walmart. In their lighting section where all of there bulbs are, you'll see some bulbs that look like a coil. They are the compact fluorescents you are looking for. What you want specifically are 26 watt bulbs. They'll have an incandescent equivalency rating on them. Don't pay any attention to that. You want to find 26 watts on the label. Those will be the ones that will give you a blue-ish light. Your plants will veg. better under those. After a few weeks have gone by, you can replace those with another type you can find at walmart---42 watt cfl's. They emit a more yellow-ish light---better for flowering. Both types screw into a regular light socket.
Good luck.

Any time! I grew under the very same lights I described to you, before I got my HPS lights. They DO work. I'm running tests now to see just how much more bud I can get with HPS. If the difference isn't as much as I expect it will be...I'll go back to CFL's.
