So its my first grow..
So i started up some (10) top 44 in a propogator, then moved them into 1/2 litre tubs, from there into the ground outdoors. So far they've been growing for roughly 8-9 weeks and due to global warming, the day/night hours havent gone 12/12 yet. Anyhoo, 9 got eaten by slugs while i was on holiday, i mean stripped down to stem. That happened about 4 weeks ago. After i decimated the slug and snail population in my back garden with salt and slug pellets, i left the stems in the ground. Amazingly, 3 came back in a huge way, 2 with 2 main tops and the third with 4 mains - the rest died completely. They're currently catching up to my survivor, which i temporarily stunted with milk after reading somewhere it would give my baby a fat stem. Note: Never use full fat milk, or any kind for that matter if u live in the uk. Anyway, long story short, my prize plant is just over two feet and bushing like george. Now since it's mainly indica, its understandable that it isnt that tall, but i've read some threads on here where ppl grow 6 or 7 foot indicas. I was just wondering if my lack of vertical growth was a strain related thing, or if there's something else to it.
Other info:
Fert - MG all purpose 24-8-16 with trace elements (once fortnightly)
Soil ph average - 5.7 (after counteracting alkaline from milk with vinegar)
Watered once every 2 or 3 days depending on weather
London's pretty humid but i couldnt say exact %
Will add pics once i get enough post count
Any advice is more than welcome and very much neededLazyBum Reviewed by LazyBum on . So its my first grow.. Umm... Global warming has nothing to do with length of day.
Day length is a function of latitude- you're @ 51', so it's not time for your stuff to be flowering. The further from the equator you are, the later in fall flowering will begin. You won't get a hard frost for a long time ( Do you ever get a hard freeze? Like -10C?).
Just wait, and watch.
You're gonna want to cut back on the N ( 1st # in NPK listing) when you start to see pistils.
Have fun!
The stress during veg may have delayed floweringI assume you understand that we have options on your time,
And we will ditch you in the harbour if we must-
But if it all works out nicely,
You\'ll get the bonus you deserve
From doctors we trust.

So its my first grow..
We definately get low temps (around 1C) but not until december, january at least. And even then its not predicted to be as low as -10C (according to the Met office) so i think im in the clear with regards to temperature.
I'll try and find a low N fert for when they start flowering. Time to do some research.
Thanks rhizome

So its my first grow..
ok, so i went out this morning to check on my ladies (hopefully), everything seemed fine and they're growing well, except for a couple things, the first of which may be totally trivial but im going to post it none the less.
I found that where my leaves had become stunted and curled downwards or to the side they are now expending moisture, and i know it isnt condensation or rain water because it only happens on a few select leaves and does not evaporate for hours in the midday sun. Also its got a funky smell to it, never smelled anything similar. Maybe theyre dumping excess nutes? i dont know.
Secondly, and this is what im worried about, my ph shot up almost overnight leaving me with an average of around 7.9. I already dropped the ph with vinegar before hand and it seems like it had no long term effect, any suggestions? I was contemplating burying lemons in the soil.
Keep in mind my plants are in the ground with a perlite/rich dark peat/natural soil combo.

So its my first grow..
Ok, so i had to settle for some camera pix but here they are. Only two females left now, 3 out of the 5 turned out to be male
one of which was my 3 footer
Pic 1 and 2 - female 1
Pic 3 and 4 - female 2
Note: The soil ph is now back up to 7.6 approx and i have observed white hairs at most nodes and internodes. Will be changing to tomato plant feed in a week (3.9 - 2.6 - 7.7), i also have some molasses, but i dunno how effective any of this will be or when to administer it. Lil help?

So its my first grow..
In addition, can anyone give a rough estimate on how long til harvest? Its mainly indica (Top 44), so im guessing somewhere around the 8 week mark.
Thing is, im going to university soon and the trip to check back on them costs a bomb. I'm hoping i can get a pretty accurate prediction from some of the more experienced growers
Thanks in advance.

First of all MG is the worst thing you can give to an mj plant Burns way to easy and if you dont flush before harvest your weed is going to taste like shit. Try to stay organic if you can fish emoltion, bat guano, fox farms big bloom, tiger bloom, ect. Depending how much mg you have given it it might no flower for a long time. If a plant has too much Nitrogen it wont flower. Your plant should have started flowering about a month ago
