i always find it slightly amusing when people claim spiritual power or godlike attributes for our wonderful little herb. the same claims have been made for most all mind altering substances. folks seem to forget that these substances merely change the way you view the world, they don't actually physically change anything but the chemistry of your brain. all of those grand revelations you receive while under the influence were there all along, you just couldn't see them until the roadblocks were removed. yes, it's a wonderful way to remove the debris that accumulates in your mind, but even at its best it is nothing more than a tool to change your frame of reference.

They discover that our bodies our trying to mimic the effects of this plant. When did that start to happen, in respect to evolution? We can't get ourselves high, like sativa can, nor can we activate the receptors in our immune system as dramatically as cannabis can.

The key word, there, is "drugs", or, "anything that is tampered with".
(Actually, that doesn't matter. It's a separate point.)

You can't achieve the biological effects of cannabis, through meditation/hypnosis, the same way that you can't destroy your brain cells, through meditation/hypnosis, in the manner that meth can.
