Outdoor Grow Leaves dropping off in VEG!

Hi ya's. My plants are in ground. Soil is well tilled. 3rd Grow. Replaced soil each year with balanced mixtures (organic). This is first time I have had problems (other than bugs)with my plants not being healthy. Live in cali. This summer temps got in low 100s for a week.Last year 2 weeks temps over 110. This didnt happen then. I have been constantly picking up dropping leaves for 2 weeks now. Plants are getting Very sparse. I tryed watering a lil more, a lil less,foilage fed, and a good spraying off with ph balanced straight water.none of this helped. Looked like they started sprouting leaves fast after i sprayed them with water,but now 4 days later are getting worse.. I use only Fox farm nutes. Water is balanced at 6.5to 6.8 ph. I check before and after i add fox to it. The 2 strains are sour deisel and OG kush. Kush is bushy but stunted it seems, yellowing all the way to middle now. Deisel is tall and lanky
leaves dropping off very fast mostly lower leaves. sorry so long, can it be the strain? heat?..I might have some bugs. Help please they really going fast. Will be starting flower in about week

HI lynn I was wondering if you ever found out what those black tar
looking spots were on your plant? i did a search and you were the only person (besides me) that had that problem. i really dont think its scale, i looked under a microscope and it looks like little pieces of
hash!!! there are trichomes sticking out of it!! its weirdn i still dont know what it is but my plant looks great!

Hee hee. I dont have them this year,,well maybe a very few. I honestly not sure but to tell you the truth i looked at it too and I think might have been fly poop! I saw this weird looking fly on my plant this year kinda had brownish line on it, I was looking at it and poof i saw a black spot appear as it flew off. Heck I dont know I searched for that answer for 3 months never got one till just this month over a year later. So this year i got yellow leaves and dropping off like person said but no black dots..go figure

Lynzz I had the EXACT same thing happen to me today.....housefly....saw it on the plant, shoed it off and there was a permanent dark brown spot on the leaf that had NOT been there before. Wouldn't have connected it to a fly I don't think if I hadn't seen that. :wtf:

Sounds to me like you are doing everything the way you should.....I am NOT a soil grower by any means but did grow some outside in the same kind of heat last year.....had a two week period of heat starting at about 105 that culminated in 113 ish degree temps.....and wiped out my plants just as I see happening to yours. They crawled through with lots of shadecloth and fans blowing on them but never did recover properly. It was....in fact.....the last time I ever tried to grow outside and that was a HUGE part of the reason for that decision.

Yeah was hotter last year and they were stresses out but i planted like a month late and started with 12 week old plants that hadnt been taken care of properly roots werent at bottom of pots ectra stunted them bad. Heat didnt make leaves drop though and was hotter, Sighs maybe bad strain clones this year i dunno. My very first year had 4 plants get 7 ft by 5 ft wide buds as big as your fist and to elbow..was overwhelming... beginners luck?? lol Till we got a flash flood thunderstorm 4 days before I was gonna cut and busted branches to the ground mud and muck,,half survived and by the time them monsters were dry enough to cut most went hemmy lmao. Actually no laughter there, one extreme to another Anyhow..maybe next year :angelsmiley:
