Xbox 360 Failure
For some strange and unknown reason, my beloved Xbox 360 has shown me it's red ring of death. I really do not know why it happened, but it looks like I may have to send it to Microsoft.

When did you buy it? Many earlier models had this problem, and Microsoft acknowledged it by extending the warranty, if you have the same problem as most users. I believe you can get all the information from their website, or by calling. They then send you a box and label to send your shit, they work on it, and send it back, all for free. It's quite suprising that Microsoft has offered this, because it's costing them a lot. Anyways, that's the deal on that.

I bought mine about a year ago. It has never given me any problems until recently. I think mine may qualify for the free repair, as it is only the 3 red lights that come on and flash. And Slip, high failure rates are the price to pay for the superior system.

I was under the impression if you get the "3 red rings of death" you send it to Microsoft (or where ever) and they will send you a BRAND NEW one.

As long as I don't have to pay for the repair/replacement. I did nothing to cause my Xbox 360 any problems. I've treated it like royalty since the day I bought it.

whatever they do, you get back a 360 that works, so it's all good.
My brother just did this last week.

Also, do I just send them the console, or do I send all the plugs and wires too? I couldn't find a real clear answer on their site.

no they don't, and trust me you don't want a brand new one.. when you send it in the rebuild alot of stuff inside, you get a brand new one you're likely to have the same problem again down the road.
