broken stem, top leaves are drooping and dying
please help, someone hit my plants with a football and they bent, nearly broken, ever since the tops have drooped and leaves have shrivled up, but below the break the plant is fine. i think its because the top isnt getting sufficent water supply. can i do anything to bring them back? thanks

Make the best of it, hon. Since the top is already wilting, I'd cut it off. It's too late to split it. Any branches below the cut will try to be "top bud". In other words you should get two main colas, maybe three, possibly four! You might say you have accidentally topped your plant.
Now about that top. After you cut it off, cut off the bottom inch or so to remove damaged tissue and stick it in water like it was a bouquet. Then cut all the leaves back to one 1 inch blade or if too damaged just cut them off. If you are lucky, the top will rehydrate. Then you need to read up on cloning! Your disaster could be turned into a golden opportunity! Are you in veg or in bud? I find it harder to clone the further into budding the plant is. But don't let that stop you. Even if one clone lives, it gives you a head start in your next grow!
Well, are you still standing there? Get busy!- Granny:hippy:

Hi, Thanks for your advice, i did what you said and the plant is focusing on the remaining nodes, but the branches that snapped were already into the budding phase, the main stem hasnt really recovered properly... is there anything else i can do, the other smaller nodes are still looking healthy but dont seem to be growing at a very suitable rate, should i start to clone them, they have little buds on them, should i just cut them all back and start new clones. should i apply a rooting agent?
thanks:thumbsup:
