budding problems
I have 5 female plants, dont know what strand or anything , came from good bagseed. 4 of them were planted in March. I had to cover them once because of a freeze warning but they were o.k. I am having problems with 2 of them. One of them smells very sweet and is taking forever to finish. Its about 4ft tall with narrow leaves. The top cola is pretty fat but the lower buds are still very small. The other is very skinny and about 3 and a half ft. tall and the buds are still very small. I figure since they've been outside since March, the buds probably want get any bigger. Am I right? Sure hope not. This is my first grow so I dont have a clue. Did I start too early or something or will the buds suprise me and get alot bigger? Im in GA. By the way the other 3 are doing great. I think they are almost ready. Sorry no pics yet. PLEASE HELP

Thye will get bigger before harvest- but are you certain that you have all females? If you don't see HAIRS on all 4, you may very well have a male or 2.

budding problems
Yes, I got rid of my males, thank to you all. I have a 5ftr that has also been in the ground since March. About 60% of the hairs have turned brown. I also have one that was planted in a pot in March and became rootbound. I took the root ball out of the pot and put it in the ground. It's only about 3ft tall but very bush like and has some thick buds on it. I guess I didnt break up the dirt good enough or something when I transplanted it because it didnt get much taller. I also have a 2 and a half ftr that was planted in May and started flowering a couple of weeks after I planted it. It never got any taller , but it looks like it will be one 2 ft cola. I was really hoping to get at least a half pound of dry buds at harvest. Do you think I will. My buddy told me I was planting too early when I started them on March 1st, but I was too anxious to get started man. Is planted too early a problem? And what is the avg yield on a few 4 ftrs. Thanks for responding.

If they survived the ealry cold weather, you did not plant too early, unless height is an issue.

The sweet one that is taking forever is in a spot that doesnt get a lot of sun. Is this the problem? I spotted the hairs on 4 of them way back in May and they have been flowering ever since. From what I have read thats a long time. The one that was started in May already has buds the size of the skinny 3 and a half footer. Just not as tall. Will try to get pics soon. By the way I started another one in late July just to see if I could get anything off of it and noticed the white hairs today. It is about a ft tall, and gets good morning sun. 8 to 2. Here in Ga. it usually doesn't freeeze until Nov. so will I get anything ? PEACE

GA? You should be okay.
What you saw very early were preflowers- the plant showed sexual maturity before your daylight hours dropped to less than 12.

So are you saying that by me planting them on March 1 that they should be taller or shorter than if I planted later in the season. Or does that have anything to do with height? They sprouted before March 10th and were all flowering by mid June. Wouldnt you think that they should be finished by now?

Bucky they were PREFLOWERING by then. The real flower cycle would have begun in August if they were getting early or late day shade.
I suggest putting your clones out by the end of July, or your seedlings out in May or June.
Get all the prep work (sprouting seeds or taking and vegging clones) done in March and April.
