Help wiring fan control
Ok hmm I have it wired correctly. Ive checked the connections, switched them and then checked the connections again. The fan isent even powering up. Im 100% sure its not fried. What should I do now? Assume the speed control is bad?
And again thank you so much for the help so fare.

Help wiring fan control
I went to the maker of this speed controls website. Its telling me this speed control is made for 115V when the motor says 120V. Is this enough to cause this switch not to be compatible with the fan?

The 5 volts shouldn't be an issue. If the connections are in good contact they look right. :wtf: Do you have a voltmeter to trouble shoot it?

The voltage doesn't matter.
Remove your fan switch and hook the black wire back together. Plug the fan in and see if it works.
Report results.

Sorry I didn't check back earlier. Spent the entire day, uh, farming.
OK - so you've now determined that your control is your problem and you need a different control.
That fan control in the link will work. Just reconnect your black wire and plug your fan into the controller.
Or, if you want to save a couple bucks, what you need is a simple rheostat - a dimmer switch. Lowe's & Home DePot carry essentially three grades of dimmers with approximate prices of $8, $17, $30. The $17 & $30 dimmers are basically the same, except for the packaging. Buy one of those dimmers and hook it up the way you had the other control hooked up.
