I wrote this poem right after the tragic events of 9/11/2001. It's what I thought my little girl would say if she could talk at the time. We had just brought her into this God forsaken world 6 weeks earlier as my wife and I sat on the couch crying this is what I thought...

To Karina Nikole: Love & Hope are the keys !

My little girl looked me straight in the eye,
and said Daddy oh Daddy... please don't lie.
Man has been together for oh so long, will we ever really get along?
I just have to know - just have to know.

Why do some hate the color of skin, while others hate the religion I'm in?
Haven't our leaders read the Book before? Couldn't we talk instead of war?
I just have to know - just have to know.

After thousand of years can we get it right? Or are we destined to always fight?
There's fighting here and fighting over there, doesn't anyone really care?
I just have to know - just have to know.

Well child, I'll tell you, I heard a man. He talked of UNITY throughout the land.
The man I heard, He made a stand, and He talked of LOVE as the Master plan.
So now you know Dear - now you know.

He said, being negative is no kind of life, we can't be causing so much strife.
Positivity is the way to be, that's the only hope for humanity.
So now you know Dear - now you know.

"Do unto others as you would have them do to you."
That Golden Rule can see us through.
If one man or two men, maybe three, then there's HOPE, and that's the key.
So now you know Dear - now you know.

Now we know, both you and me, that LOVE & HOPE can set us free!
So reach out your hand child, to your fellow man,
for we need LOVE & HOPE to achieve His plan.
So now you know Karina ... NOW YOU KNOW !


ps: Keep the Faith and keep up the struggle. If no one fights for change things never will ! Be true to yourself. Be what YOU ARE and what YOU WANT TO BE and don't worry about what others think. Be a Leader... not a follower !

I'll share a poem I wrote about my daughter before she was born last summer.

When you hit rock bottom
your roots become dry
then when you find water
you realize why

That without moisture
you'll wither away
so wash with the word
while it is called today

On the lakeside hill
where the waters flow
there's a baby girl
named ***low

So if she's born
on that chosen day
I ask you Lord
to guide her way

For every dark day, a bright day follows. Peace is coming!

Wow man, that was touching and very personal and all but kind of cliche. Dont get mad at me though, if you cant take criticism you dont deserve to write
