I use them every day. It was how I was raised, too. Well-bred people remember their manners unfailingly. We also write thank-you notes.

Manners are what separate the sheep from the goats in society. Truly.

Mr. Muscle, may I slice a hunk of your muscle off and grill it on my BBQ? It looks beefy and shiney, good for grillin!

I am polite as my folks taught me well. Even when people aren't nice to me. I prefer to kill them with kindness.

I do it because I want to because I want to be polite. My actions towards others usually isn't dictated by whether or not they were nice to me first. I was taught well by my dad that I should always care myself a certain way whether or not people were watching or how they are acting. I fully believe in acts of random kindness whether holding the door for strangers, sometimes going out of my way to do so, to saying bless you after someone sneezes that I don't even know,to making sure someone hears me say excuse me if I bump into them to learning people's names that I will never see again. There's nothing more rude than saying "Hey you...."

Unless someones pissed me off, and then im just being sarcastic.

Like when you get calls from those morons who cant speak English asking if you want double glazing - i ask them to take my number off all of their databases and say thankyou at the end, but i sure as hell dont mean it.

Manners to me are about making people around you as comfortable as possible.
So yea, I say it all the time and I mean it.

You feel the positive vibe when you are nice.. And if an asshole decides to ruin my good mood, I just laugh at them.

    You reap what you sow.
