MSG TO OPIE YUTTS
MSG TO OPIE, hey i am like 3 weeks away from being done flowering. I have noticed a small number of mites, will it be ok to hang the no pest strips at this stage? I have no exhaust air just AC coming in and circulating air in the room coming off a filter fan. Should I turn my AC and fan off or just my AC off and leave the fan which could help circulate the contained air? Should they be in there all day or only when my light are off? Please advise.

Sorry I haven't responded. I haven't seen this thread before now. I visit the problems section from time to time, but if you really want to catch me, try leaving me a note in hydroponics or indoor growing, asking me to see your post in whatever section your thread is appropriate.
This thread is so old I don't even know if you care anymore, but here goes.
I would not turn off AC since mites prefer it warm. The warmer it is, the faster they breed (within reason). I would turn off your circulation fan at night, and leave the strips in there with the door closed and everything sealed up as tight as you can get it. Like I said before, I have a pretty good amount of ventilation during the day, none at night, and I stopped seeing mite movement after 24 hrs. While there is no circulation at night, watch your plants for signs of stress or mold, but within 1 week of the treatment you should have broken the life cycle, and I don't think the absence of ventilation at night for that long will hurt anything. Good luck.

My response above referes to when and if you use the strips. However I noticed that you said you were 3 weeks from harvest. In this case I would not use the strips since they are so toxic. I would use neem oil or something to control the mites, then harvest, then kill the mites.
