How do you keep a bowl cherried?
No. There's no technique. What's happening is that since you're in a group, the bowl is being hit more consistently, which makes it stay lit. It could also depend on how dry the weed is.

How do you keep a bowl cherried?
Still, its just like a fire in the ground: even though the top cools off and may even die off, the center of it will stay lit longer because there is only JUST enough oxygen to keep it lit, and not enough to kill it.
Same goes with a bowl, especially with the added holes at the bottom, leading to airflow coming in from the carb; and since both are connected to the bowl itself which leads to even MORE oxygen, it is very easy to keep a bowl cherried if just given the right factors. I think how tight one packs the bowl has a lot to do with it. Its always been my experience that tightly compacted bowls don't cherry as well as bowls that are just simply packed, but not packed like sardines. You want it light enough to allow air to flow through the weed, not stop at the surface.

Larger bowls cherry better. Breaking weed up can defenitely help a cherry. If you practice, you can use part of your hand to cup over part of the bowl and I think this helps, although i'm not sure of all the physcics of it. With smaller bowls you can hold the lighter from a distance (also using the cupping technuqie) until just the tip is pulled into the bowl. You can also use a bowlcap, and while it may not cherry ( but there's a reasonable chance it will) it will help to keep the weed from burning up too quickly and has a slight vaporizing effect.

How do you keep a bowl cherried?
if you were smoking outside with the wind on your side that helps alot, a place with no wind blowing wont keep it cherried nearly as well as an open area.

How do you keep a bowl cherried?
I have a wooden bowl and i changed the bowl so i could blow back out the bowl without losing the herb. the smoke blowing past the bowl would keep it lit. I went through a bowl with my friend and only lit it once. Saves lighter fluid and lest time wasted by flicking the lighter. all you have to do is put a cap on the top or something like that.

How do you keep a bowl cherried?
The best way is to get herb that has been cured and is just dry enough. When I pack bowls i usually put the smaller bits of weed that had been ground on top of the bigger bits, it cherries easily like this. I usually only need about 2-3 seconds of flame and I could smoke the whole bowl.
