Inflamed arm/shoulder?
first let me say the general medicinal section seems to of dissapeared so i'm not sure really where to post this...
dunno if that's what it was or not... it doesn't feel like it was on fire, but of all the descriptions of pain/uncomfrot, inflamed definately fits the best...
anyways i woke up today (way before i should have infact) becasue my entire arm and shoulder was in pain... a dull pain, not throbbing... just steady... i guess it sort of felt 'on fire'
anyways, it's been happening alot lately... any idea as to what could be causing it? it's causing me to lose alot of sleep when i have problems sleeping to begin with...
any background you'll have to ask for as i'm not sure what to include other then:
i'm a heavy drinker, i'm 22 years old, my body has been abused heavily (i probably have more scars then nearly anyone of my age, and have felt more pain then most as well) i sleep on my stomach (not my side, just saying incase sleeping on it could contribute to it)
i take about 300 MG a day of diphenamine hydrochloride to sleep (benadryl) and for the past week i've been having to take 400 MG a day of ibuprofen because i threw my back out again (i have a very bad back)
it is ONLY my left arm/shoulder, and no matter how much i stretch, massage or pop the joints related it does not help... in fact, it took half an hour after i finally gave up on sleeping for the ibuprofens to kick in and make it stop hurting, so, so far, the only thing that helps the pain is ibuprofen..
any idea on what's causing this? most of the feeling is felt in my elbow, but a good portion (20%?) is felt in the shoulder as well.slipknotpsycho Reviewed by slipknotpsycho on . Inflamed arm/shoulder?
We still have the same Medicinal Cannabis and Health section we've always had. It's here where I moved this, under the Medical Cannabis heading along about the middle of the main index page. In my history with this site, which is, admittedly, not as long as yours, I've never seen a general health section. It's always been health as it relates to cannabis. People like to ask general health questions here, however.
No one can diagnose your arm/shoulder problem over the Internet, Slip. You know that. We'll tell you, as we always do, to go see a doctor, and you'll tell us why you can't or won't. Sore arms and shoulders happen all the time, for reasons ranging from injury, to arthritis, to tendon/muscle strains, or to some other systemic illness. Lately my right arm and shoulder have been hurting because of the way I'm sleeping at night to accommodate my neck in this cervical collar. Try what I do. Stretches, a warm shower, plenty of fluids (to help with joint lubrication--all that antihistamine you take in combination with your smoking and drinking likely have you dehydrated, which'll often aggravate inflammatory joint or limb problems), and ibuprofen or aspirin as an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory. Ibuprofen works best for me, but I'm not allowed to take it right now. If it's something like a sore muscle or a pulled tendon or inflamed joint, it'll take time for it to settle down and stop aching.\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

but as i said, given that i've been drinking alot more and you said keeping hydrated (drinking liquids) can help what i'm feeling, i'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's the dehydration i'm suffering (i've also been wakign up and drinking like a 1/4 gallon of liquids durring the night) that is causing the problem.
would that be a fair enough assumption?
as for the first thing i mentioned, i guess the two new sections just threw me off?
