My first grow
So, I've started my very first grow
, and I need help. I've been looking and searching through the forum but can't find info I need so I guess i'll ask now.
So, my seedling has sprouted today and I need to know how much light to give and how long to give it.
Right now I'm giving it 60 watts of CFL for as long as it's been sprouted. I have a fan circulating and I'm growing in cut off bottle bottoms.
When the plant gets bigger I'm going to start giving it 150 watts, and of course put it in bigger actual container made for plants.
But right now I really want to know about LIGHTING MOSTLY.
So if you could help or post a link to get all my info on the flowering time, vegetation, ect. it would be great:thumbsup:,
thanks...Microelite7711 Reviewed by Microelite7711 on . My first grow So, I've started my very first grow:D, and I need help. 10,000 lumens is optimum for your plant.
Your 60 clf is about 4000 lumens.
cool white(2700k) = vegetation daylight(6500k) = flowering
Vegetation lasts about a month or more depending if you want your plant to grow bigger and in vegetation stage, lights should be on 24/7(best) or 18/6(good).
Flowering lasts about two months and on flowering stage, lights should be on 12/12.Here Comes!! John Herer

Thank You VERY MUCH
and sorry if there was a post and I didn't find it,
but really THANK YOU, I want to do good for my first plant.
THIS IS MY EDIT:
and one other thing, if the light bulbs say their 42 watts but are equal to 150, is that still as good as a regular 150 watt bulb or no?

Well that 42 watt outputs 2600 lumens, if you want a good grow you need 10,000 lumens.
So four 42 watt bulbs will be good making it more than 10,000 lumens, but you would have to get four 42watt cool white(2700k) bulbs for flowering and four 42 watt daylight(6500k) bulbs for vegetation.
The good things about cool white(2700k) bulbs you can use them for vegetation and flowering, but daylight(6500k) bulbs would be the best.
cool white(2700k) bulbs = best for vegetation
daylight(6500k) bulbs = good for vegetation, best for floweringHere Comes!! John Herer

Give your seedlings a minimum of 18 hours of sunlight or light a day. When you want your plant to bud, cut it to 12 hours of light a day and 12 hours of darkness a day. That triggers the flowering stage. Right now yours are in the vegetative growth stage.

natural daylight is cool lighting.(cfls) "Soft" lighting is warm lighting and thats the one you want for flowering I believe. You want the natural daylight (cool) cfls for vegging...
You want a "bluer" light spectrum for vegging and a "redder" spectrum for flowering.

I mean soft whites instead of cool whites. On my post above. Here Comes!! John Herer
