    ready for 12/12 flower? pics

I am currently at about 3.5 weeks from seed. I have 3 fat bushy plants from 6-8" and 5-7 nodes with no signs of preflowers yet. Is it too soon to switch to 12/12 or should I be fine now? I am also limited on space big time, I have LST on two plants, and don't want them to out grow the cabinet.

wait for preflowers at the very least.....

switching to 12/12 before preflowering can stress and lead to hermies/males.

even after preflowering showing definite sex can take a long time....but at the very least
    wait for preflowers.....

you should start to see them at the 4th week of veg growth or about 6 weeks total time...but it can take longer....

    patience my friend!

Here ya go dude. Keep them on for at least 20+ hours of light to begin with. Keep it like that for awhile thenyou might want to switch to 18/6 then to 12/12. You don't nessecarily have to do that but just throwing some numbers out there for ya. And I had 3 to 4 plants in one container and it just wans't working out. One plant would hog the light over the others, so I had to nix 2-3 of them. It was pretty tough, but trust me. One plant getting ALL the light is a lot better than 3 or 4 big bushy plants SHARING the light.

Is it your frist time? I reccomend keeping 1 to 2 plants, LST them nicly, and keep it on 20/4 cycle before you put them into flowering.

From his question learned I don't know what is a pre flower and how to recognize it. Could you explain or direct me to pictures. TKS.

It's good to wait until you can see that the node placement has gone alternating rather than opposite.

Unless you know what strain you have... Some sativas need to veg atleast 10 weeks. I'm at week 10 on some bagseed and I still don't have preflowers on all the plants. I wouldn't rush into 12/12, because like stated above, you are likely to get males/hermies.

That makes sense but is it possible to go too long? The things are growing in every direction. If you look at his picture, I have a much denser and slightly taller plant. And, this is first time so I- minus what I have read here- have no real idea of what I'm doing.

the only down side of waiting too long is the fact that it'll get overcrowded and there isn't enough light penetration to the bud sights. Don't worry about that as it looks like you'll have enough room, seeing as they are still pretty small. Most plants double in size (depending on the strain, sativa's can triple) once you switch the lights to 12/12. Personally, I'd wait till they're about 1 foot. Here are some pics of preflowers, the males are the ones with the balls, but they can look like bananas also...sometimes early on theyr'e quite hard to distinguish. The females are the ones with the white hairs coming out.
