More than you'd think....there's a few medical conditions that require it...the most common reason I've seen is a condition called phimosis, which is a hardening and narrowing of the foreskin behind the glans (head) which if left untreated will cut off blood supply to the glans. When I was in nursing school, the first 4 obervations during my surgical rotation were circumcisions....blew my little innocent mind...
