I'm sure alot depends on where you live.Some jurisdictions get really shitty about weed in any amount.I've seen a lot of cops either just look the other way or pull the plants up and confiscate them too.Just depends on who you deal with.

In most parts of UK , its usually kick the door in 1st , ask questions later .

And if they kick your door in and find nothing , not even a soggy roach , then they have to pay for everything that has been broken , although they can sometimes escape this if they find a oiled bong etc. The bastards !!

Ask yourself this: Do they have a reason to get a warrant for you?

Did you do something illegal that will make them obtain one?
Are you a (known) drug dealer?
Did you just get busted for possession?
Etc.

Ask yourself questions like the above, if you say yes to these types of questions then a warrant is very possible.

The other thing is if your lucky to live in one of the better areas don't get an attitude with the local cops.Some will let a lot of shit slide if you're just stay mellow.This of course depends on the circumstances of why the cops had to become involved in the first place.If its because somebody did something really stupid,prepared to be shit on.

Whether they knock down the door depends on a) whether you are home when they serve the warrant, and b) if you are home, whether you try to climb out the bathroom window when they knock. They love knocking down shit and coming in hot.

If (a), then they'll pick the door or knock apart the bolt, but not knock the door down.
If (b), then your door is going to be headed for the floor real soon.

As for the underlying question; yes, a pound of MJ is enough for most cops to get a warrant. Whether they can and whether it is valid or not will depend on how much they know and how they know it.

My best advice to anyone with enough money to get a pound would be: 1) If it really is just for you, break it up and put it in different locations. 2) If you're selling, invest in getting a lawyer on retainer. You'll need one at some point.
