Will desiccant bags help with drying?Just curious. As I was cleaning out my laptop bag I found a small bag of desiccant in the bottom. Since dessicant is used to absorb moisture thought I would ask if anyone has ever tried using it to speed up their drying process. Does/Will it have a negative effect on the finished product? trynagethigh Reviewed by trynagethigh on . Will desiccant bags help with drying? Just curious. Will desiccant bags help with drying? Not all desiccants are the same. First off check the label to see if it says 'Made in China'. I would toss that one. Next, not all desiccants are food safe, some are industrial only. You also have no idea what has been absorbed by the desiccant. So bottom line. I do not think it is a good idea to use a desiccant. You have too much time and effort involved to get ruined at this last stage of the game.
