Will desiccant bags help with drying?

Just curious. As I was cleaning out my laptop bag I found a small bag of desiccant in the bottom. Since dessicant is used to absorb moisture thought I would ask if anyone has ever tried using it to speed up their drying process. Does/Will it have a negative effect on the finished product?

Not all desiccants are the same. First off check the label to see if it says 'Made in China'. I would toss that one. Next, not all desiccants are food safe, some are industrial only. You also have no idea what has been absorbed by the desiccant. So bottom line. I do not think it is a good idea to use a desiccant. You have too much time and effort involved to get ruined at this last stage of the game.

With a lot of herb to dry,I use the
    70 % humidity
    7 cays
    lots of circulation.
than place in bags for 5-7 more days and vent each bag everyday.
The Slow but Sure is time tested.
Time waits for no man, on earth a week is still 7 days. But I want it NOW
